ATS (Automatic start and stop) which is not only convenient, but also safe as it makes it impossible to have the generator and the mains power run together. The generator comes on automatically only while the mains power is off. No human error possible and extremely convenient.
The problem
People are rapidly learning what to consider when buying a back-up power generator. Unfortunately, because of the lack of good stock in the country, and because many people have rushed their purchases, many of the country’s first private generator owners are now realizing that they have either purchased the wrong product or had an unpleasant experience.
• Neighbors are complaining about excessive noise being generated and it will be only a matter of time before City Council regulation enforcers will be dishing out fines and ordering people not to continue using open generators not operating within easily measurable noise limits.
• Some brands of generators break down after less than 100 hours of use. These are usually ‘copy’ products imported into the country for thirty percent less than the ‘real thing’.
• Many customers choose to manually control the cutting of the mains power and starting of their generators, thereby saving thousands of Rands on Automatic Start boards. Inconvenience aside, the danger of forgetting to flip a switch could result in the destruction of your newly purchased generator and possibly fatal electric shock for others.
• Some people have chosen to buy small generators, without Automatic Voltage Regulators, and undertake to manually limit the circuits which they use. Once again, besides the inconvenience, their property may draw more current than the generator can produce, resulting in the supplied voltage dropping which could ruin most electronic equipment in their home or business.
• Many Generators that have been purchased are not positioned on a level stable base. The diesel engines are designed to operate on a level surface and may not start when they are supposed to as a result.
• Most generators are sold without installation which is left up to the customer. This is very inconvenient and stressful if one is not certain of the installer’s ability or credibility. Worse still the generator may be installed incorrectly and damage circuits or equipment.
The solution
Private Power customers will not experience any of the above problems because we sell only the full, real turn key solution to correct generator supply and installation and safe and reliable operation. As a standard, together with every generator, we supply:
• Load testing your property and advice on choice of model.
• A high quality product, fully supported by a huge and reputable manufacturer.
• A sound insulating and weather proof canopy, which means low noise and easy installation.
• AVR (voltage regulator) which will shut down the generator if too much current is drawn. Rather than produce more current at lower voltages, risking damage to all electrical appliances, air con etc.
• ATS (Automatic start and stop) which is not only convenient, but also safe as it makes it impossible to have the generator and the mains power run together. The generator comes on automatically only while the mains power is off. No human error possible and extremely convenient.
• Delivery, base preparation and positioning of the generator.
• Certified electrical connection of the generator to the customers power supply.
• Full Guarantee for one year or 1000hrs of operation.
• Please see attached product catalogue for pictures and specifications.
We will supply parts and service for our machines and even a service plan will be offered at time of sale.
Technical description of Products and Services
We will be supplying and installing 14 different models of silent and ultra silent diesel power generators. All units have low rpm water cooled diesel engines between one and six cylinders. Please see catalogue attached.
These generators must be connected into the electrical supply line anywhere between the meter box, usually at the boundary of the property, and the main distribution board for the building. This will be done by a certified electrician via the ATS (Automatic Start / Stop relays)
Generators are either three or single phase, and different models generate different amounts of power and therefore amps per phase. The correct generator to install in one’s building is one that produces just more than the maximum number of amps drawn on any of the phases in the power supply when all electronic plant, appliances and equipment is in use. This ensures that your power needs will always be met and that the generator will always operate within the maximum rated output.
The Kipor range of generators holds ISO 9001 and EPA emission certifications. These are the requirements for the SABS approval.
